Alvette Chase has seen firsthand the impact UMB is making in West Baltimore. “I grew up on the west side,” she says, “and it’s exciting to see the opportunities UMB is offering to the community through projects like the UMB CURE Scholars Program and the Community Engagement Center.”

Over her 13 years of working at UMB, she’s found inspiration across campus: “For me, UMB has this energetic vibe. I like being part of an institution that is focused on life at so many levels. Every school focuses on making life better through saving lives, addressing levels of patient care, medical research, social justice, and legal representation. It’s all about helping people.”

And helping people is exactly what Alvette is doing with her gifts to the University. “Seeing the CURE Scholars ignited my interest to give back,” she says. “I want to see these programs continue. Knowing my contributions are making a difference and seeing them succeed is what inspires my continued giving.”
