Temperatures are centrally monitored and adjusted seasonally to meet energy efficiency guidelines while maintaining occupant comfort.

Contact your department’s building coordinator or submit a Lock & Key Request if authorized through our portal or call the Faculties Service Center at 410-706-7570. Please note, if your key request is for a project through Design & Construction, D&C must submit the request on your behalf through an area of our portal that is not accessible by customers.

Submit a request on the Carpentry install & Uninstall tile through our portal or call the Facilities Service Center at 410-706-7570. Approval from your supervisor or department head may be required.

All Carpentry Installs & Uninstalls are considered a billable request unless the Wall Hanging is under 10lbs or 36”x24”. You will be asked to provide a SOAPF on the following page of this request. For more details, please check the Services & Rates page.

No, however, Environmental Services (EVS) provides moving and setup services with advance notice. Submit a Moving request through the portal or call 410-706-7570. In some cases, O&M may be requested on your behalf by EVS to disassemble or reassemble furniture. Please note, there will be a separate work order number for EVS vs. O&M as we are two different departments.

Some requests involve both Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Environmental Services (EVS) departments. Although the portal shows their services separately, coordination between the two departments may be required for certain tasks, resulting in two work order numbers – one for each department. Common examples include:

  1. Moving Requests Involving Furniture Assembly/Disassembly
    • EVS handles moving but does not disassemble or reassemble furniture
    • Submit a Moving Request and describe what’s needed.
    • EVS will then coordinate with the O&M Multi-Trade shop and enter a second request on your behalf. You will also be added as a watcher to receive updates.
  2. Bulk Disposal Involving Regulated Materials
    • EVS manages bulk disposal through their moving shop.
    • Items like refrigerators/freezers require refrigerant removal by O&M’s HVAC shop.
    • Submit a Bulk Disposal Request to start the process. EVS will request HVAC support when needed on your behalf. You will also be added as a watcher to receive updates.
  3. Water Leaks that Require Trade Specialists and Custodial Services
    • Always call the Facilities Service Center at 410-706-7570 for leaks—do not submit them through the portal.
    • Our team assesses and stabilizes the situation before creating the work order (see FAQ#3 under Leaks & Other Emergencies for details).
    • If EVS cleanup is needed and we are aware it is related to the leak, we will submit a request on your behalf and add you as a watcher to receive updates.
    • If the cleanup request is made separately and/or not identified as leak-related, you may not be added as a watcher. For updates in those cases, please contact the Service Center at fmsc@umaryland.edu or call 410-706-7570 where they can add you as a watcher to the request.
