Each year, the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) honors the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during its MLK and Black History Month Celebration.
As part of the celebration, UMB presents two award programs recognizing individuals and organizations whose leadership and service reflect Dr. King's commitment to equity, justice, and community.
- MLK Leadership Awards recognize outstanding students, faculty, and staff who demonstrate leadership and a commitment to Dr. King's vision.
- Community Champion of Equity and Justice Awards honor individuals and organizations outside UMB whose work advances equity and justice throughout the Baltimore community.
