Proposed or Planned COVID-19 Human Subjects Research Protocols

    Dear Colleagues,

As provided by Dr. Susan Buskirk in her April 9, 2020 communication, any COVID-19 human subjects research protocols proposed or planned will be subject to a preliminary review to allow for prioritization and efficient processing.

A Study Section was formed under the Research Advisory Task Force to implement this process.  The HRP-360 - WORKSHEET - COVID-19 Human Subject Research Preliminary Review is for your use.

Once completed, please send the Worksheet and any applicable attachments, to Dr. Julie Doherty, Director of the Human Research Protection Program at jdoherty@umaryland.edu.  Once received the Worksheet will be sent to the members of the Study Section for their preliminary review and evaluation.

Please note, this process will apply to all protocols, inclusive of those submitted to UMB IRB or an external IRB.

We thank you for your cooperation during this pandemic.

    Sincerely

Dr. Julie Doherty, DM, MSN, RN, CIP, CCEP
