Francis King Carey School of Law

While we will not have an in-person graduation this week, a congratulatory video message to the Class of 2020 (JD, LLM, MSL) from the Dean and faculty of the law school will be posted on the graduation page of our law school website on Friday, May 15 – the day when we would have gathered together for our Hooding Program. 

We look forward to celebrating with our graduates during a Hooding Program once we are able to meet together safely. In the meantime, we plan to honor the accomplishments and achievements of the graduating class through our Digital Yearbook which will be launched on Wednesday, May 20.   Both the congratulatory video and the Digital Yearbook will be linked on the graduation page: https://www.law.umaryland.edu/News-and-Events/Maryland-Carey-Law-News/Digital-yearbook-honors-Class-of-2020-.php. Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science

The Department of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Science will be honoring the graduating Class of 2020 with a virtual Hooding & Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. This will be a prerecorded ceremony that will have an exclusive showing for graduates, faculty, staff and special guests at 11:00am on May 12. Following this showing, the ceremony will be available for public view beginning at noon on May 12.

School of Nursing Convocation

Virtual Degree Conferral 2020

UMSON expects to hold our May in-person Convocation in December provided that gatherings of that size are allowed by state authorities.  UMSON will communicate with May graduates’ details of that ceremony in the upcoming weeks.  

On May 14th at 12:45 p.m., graduates, their guests, faculty, and staff are invited to a virtual conferral of degrees ceremony.  This ceremony will include a photo montage of May graduates, an address by the Dean, the conferral of degrees by the President, and a recitation of the Nursing Oath.  Attendees will receive the link to the ceremony via email.

School of Pharmacy Convocation

On May 15, the School of Pharmacy will debut a graduation celebration video and website recognizing all School of Pharmacy graduates - PharmD, PhD, and MS. The video will include messages from Dean Natalie D. Eddington, reading of graduate names by program representatives, recitation of the Oath of the Pharmacist for our PharmD graduates, messages of congratulations from our School of Pharmacy community, and a photo montage. The graduation website will highlight all graduates with photos, academic honors and awards, and words of appreciation and gratitude from graduates to their family, friends, and mentors.

School of Social Work Convocation

The School of Social Work Celebrates the Class of 2020 on Friday, May 15 beginning at 10 AM. The online event takes place at sswcelebrates.net.
