CGE Selects 12 for Costa Rica Faculty Development Institute

CGE has selected the second Costa Rica Faculty Development Institute cohort, with 12 participants across six UMB schools and Academic Affairs.

The Institute is an immersive faculty development program in Costa Rica for faculty members to globalize their courses, modules, tracks, or clinical electives. From December 9-16, 2023, participants will engage in a series of interactive workshops on topics such as learning design and assessment, strategies to globalize curricula, ethical global engagement, incorporating active learning, inclusive classroom practice, etc.

  • Neijma Celestine-Donnor, JD, Assistant Clinical Professor/Associate Dean for DEI at School of Social Work
  • Rosemary Ferreira, MEd, Associate Director of the Intercultural Center
  • Marissa Flaherty, MD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Assistant Dean, Office of Student Affairs at School of Medicine
  • Renee Ann Franquiz, RN, MSN, DNP, Assistant Professor at School of Nursing
  • Jeanine Gargiulo, PA-C, Assistant Professor at the Graduate School
  • Toby Guerin, JD, Executive Director of the Center for Dispute Resolution at Carey School of Law
