UMB'S Leaders in Education: Academy of Presidential Scholars (LEAPS) initiative held its inaugural symposium on “Fostering Inclusive Teaching and Learning Environments” April 11 at the SMC Campus Center.

Three breakout sessions were led by CGE staff or Advisory Committee members:

• “Centering Equity in Global Learning Design” by Amy Ramirez, MA, Executive Director, Global Learning and International Services, and Carlos Faerron Guzmán, MD, MSc, Associate Professor of Global Health at the Graduate School
• “Best Practices for Creating an Inclusive Learning Environment” by Isabel Rambob, DDS, School of Dentistry
• “Inclusive Socialization in Professional Identity Formation” by Fotini Anagnostopoulos-King, DMD, and Kate Noonan, PhD, MSEd, School of Dentistry
