Researcher of the Year Award
Each year, UMB honors a faculty member whose research has made a significant impact in their field and supports the mission of both their school and the University.
Nomination Process:
- A committee of research deans from each UMB school will be formed by UMB’s Chief Enterprise and Economic Development Officer.
- Each research dean will nominate one researcher from their school.
- The committee will review all nominations and forward the top three to the UMB president and provost for final selection.
What to Consider When Nominating:
- Scope and strength of research accomplishments, including:
- Years of investigation
- Citation impact
- Influence on clinical practice, public policy, or academic scholarship
- Alignment with strategic research goals of the school and the University
Final Selection:
The UMB president and provost will select the final award recipient. The winner will be announced before Founders Week and honored at a reception during the celebration.
Deadline for Submissions:
All nomination materials must be submitted by Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
