Sol Roberts-Lieb, EdD

Sol Roberts-Lieb is an accomplished professional who assumed the role of faculty director of the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Maryland, Baltimore on September 11, 2023.

Before stepping into this position, Sol's career journey included contributions in various leadership roles. Most notably, he served as the director of faculty development at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine. Additionally, he held the position of associate director for pedagogy strategy at the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning at the University of Illinois. In these roles, Sol was at the forefront of faculty development and evidence-based teaching practices, collaborating closely with faculty and staff to devise innovative strategies for student engagement and enhancements in educational learning environments.

Prior to these roles, Sol was the director of information technology for the College of Fine and Applied Arts. In this capacity, he managed and directed a dynamic team responsible for the creation of online and blended courses spanning a diverse range of academic disciplines.

Sol's educational background includes a doctorate in educational policy and organizational leadership from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a specialization in differentiated instruction and organizational change, a master's in technology impact and assessment from the University of Illinois at Springfield with a concentration in liberal and integrative studies, and a bachelor's in chemistry from Illinois College.
