To request sign language interpreter services, please complete the Sign Language Interpreter Request Form. 

It is preferred that students give the Office of Educational Support and Disability Services (ESDS) a minimum of 48 hours' notice in order to receive interpreter services outside of regularly scheduled class times. Services that are requested with less than 48 hours' notice are not guaranteed and UMB-contracted interpreters are not required to be available on short notice.

If a UMB-contracted interpreter is not available, the ESDS office will work with an outside vendor, The Hearing and Speech Agency (HASA) , which requests five days' notice to best serve the client's particular needs and manage the scheduling and assigning of interpreters appropriately. It is not guaranteed that HASA interpreters will be available with less than five days' notice.
