Network SSID: eduroam

EAP Method: PEAP

Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPv2

CA Certificate: Unspecified

(If Unspecified option is not present use: Do Not Validate)

User Certificate: Unspecified

(If Unspecified option is not present: Skip Section)

Identity: UMB Email Address (Example: jdoe@umaryland.edu)

Anonymous Identity: Leave Blank

Password: Enter your UMB password (Case sensitive)

If you are an Affiliate - i.e., not an Employee or Student of UMB, and you do not have an email address ending in @umaryland.edu, your login User ID is  UMID@eduroam.umaryland.edu.

Connecting to eduroam with Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT)

This is a configuration tool that will automatically configure your Android with the correct settings by following these steps below. Make sure to be on campus in range of the eduroam wireless connection.

Can be used for Android OS 11+ and also for Androids with OS 10 and older if having issues connecting or if the manual settings above are not working for your device.

Downloading eduroam CAT

  1. Forget or delete any current eduroam network currently on your device.  (Home Screen > Settings > Connections > Wifi then locate eduroam and press and hold it and choose Forget.)
  2. Download eduroam CAT from the Google Play Store. (Must be from the GÉANT Association)Eduroam CAT image
  3. Open the eduroam CAT app and select the Profiles tab at the top. You may get prompted to allow location services for eduroam CAT, hit Allow.  Select University of Maryland-Baltimore.  You can also do a manual search from the slider at the bottom. Make sure to put in University of Maryland-Baltimore (include the dash after Maryland).manual search imageAllow CAT image
  4. Install the Profile.install imageinstall profile image
  5. Put in your UMB email address in the format of userid@umaryland.edu and hit Install.Connected CAT image
  6. You will see a green Profile Installed and a Connected to SSID “eduroam” message. You have successfully configured eduroam on your Android. The next time you change your UMB password all you need to do is open the eduroam CAT app and put your new password in and hit Install again.
  7. If you are having issues with the application, profile, or connecting with eduroamCAT we recommend opening the app and going to the Profiles tab and click “Remove Profile”. Then repeat steps 3-6 from above to re-add it.
