As the United States commemorates the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the milestone invites us to celebrate not only our nation's founding, but also the people and institutions that have helped shape its journey. For more than 200 of those 250 years, the University of Maryland, Baltimore, through its seven schools, has been part of that story.

A Milestone of Discovery and Service

The  UMB Celebrates America at 250 campaign will feature 40-plus stories about UMB's contributions to U.S. history as the nation celebrates its 250th birthday this year. Through discovery, advocacy, research, and service, UMB has helped the United States meet some of its greatest challenges, producing generations of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, lawyers, dentists, social workers, and public health leaders whose work reaches far beyond Maryland.
