Heart Walk

Join a Team or Create Your Own Team

The Heart Walk will be at the Camden Yards Sports Complex on Saturday, Oct. 12. Activities start at 9 a.m., with the walk starting at 10 a.m. There is no cost to sign up. The fundraising goal this year is $25,000. All funds raised from the walk go to the American Heart Association.

Fundraising is encouraged but not required to participate in the walk. And the event is dog-friendly, so you can bring your "best friend" with you!

UMB students at the Heart Walk will earn 20 individual participation points for their school. Students must register on the AHA Heart Walk website (create a new team under University of Maryland, Baltimore, or join an existing team) and sign in with URecFit at the Heart Walk to earn your points.

Faculty, staff, and students are invited to join the I Heart UMB team or start your own.

Food, fun, and activities for the whole family will follow the walk.

Through your participation, we have the ability to assist the American Heart Association (AHA) in making strides in improving patient care, advocating for better health, reaching out to populations at risk, raising awareness, and protecting the future when it comes to cardiovascular health. Let's show our committment to UMB's Core Values!

An array of risk factors associated with heart disease, such as sedentary lifestyle, obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol, and smoking, are preventable or manageable. These risk factors can be improved with exercise and lifestyle changes. Let the Heart Walk be the starting point and/or continuation of your journey to a healthier you.
