Student Sustainability Organizations

The Maryland Environmental Law Society is the longest-standing environmental law student organization in the country. MELS is dedicated to preserving the integrity of our planet through community service, awareness, and legal education. Interprofessional Student Climate Leadership Network

The Office of Sustainability is developing an Interprofessional Student Climate Leadership Network for students with a passion for the environment. The office has connected with UMB student sustainability groups, UMB interprofessional programs, and student affairs and services offices at each of the seven schools to provide resources for students who are currently in a student sustainability group or looking to start one.

How-To Guide for Starting an Environmental Student Group 

Are you a student and want to start an environmentally focused student group, but aren’t sure where to start? This guide aims to break down the process, lay out a general framework for group creation, and provide additional resources and ideas as you move through the process. This guide also has information on school-specific guides on student group creation (Appendix A).
