Binita is one of our Cost Analysts with the Costing and Compliance Team here in SPAC. She has been a member of our department for 8 years (soon to be 9) starting on August 21st, 2017.
Respect and Integrity are the core values she embraces. She uses them to help guide her in both personal and professional decisions. Binita also says, “Since becoming a mom and caring for my aging parents, sustainability and wellbeing have also become important values in my life. I believe that maintaining balance is essential for long-term success and happiness.”
Working at the University for SPAC has been an overall positive experience for her. She says that, “…every day brings new challenges and learning opportunities. I especially value helping departments understand and navigate compliance requirements while supporting responsible stewardship of research funds.” When asked about SPAC, Binita said, “…strong collaboration, support, and willingness to help one another succeed. Everyone is approachable and committed to working together to achieve our goals.”
Binita says that she is proud of the growth her career has provided her and the accomplishments that came with it. “Over the years, I have expanded my knowledge of compliance processes, taken on additional responsibilities, and developed confidence to support departments across the organization.”
When Binita isn’t working, you might be able to find her listening to Bollywood music or reading a book. She’s currently reading First and Forever by Lynn Painter. Besides that, she also likes cooking, dancing, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and hiking. She hopes to one day travel across India to visit holy locations.
It’s not all fun and games though. One thing that might surprise people who know her is that most of her life she used to be afraid of animals. That all changed though when her family adopted their current dog.
