Costing and Compliance Team
Tracy started with SPAC on October 1st, 2018. She works alongside the rest of the Costing and Compliance Team. She says that she is, “…most proud of the knowledge and the compliance tasks; especially everything payroll and cost transfer related.” She’s also proud she’s been able to demonstrate her hard work ethic that’s required while working with the HCM team to set up the new system.
Tracy is also grateful for the work environment at the University. She says, “Knowing that UMB genuinely cares is reassuring. They provide resources for nearly everything, whether it’s professional development or personal needs. There’s always someone or something available to offer support.”
UMB’s Core Values also help us to focus on how we do our work. Well-Being and Sustainability are the ones Tracy embraces the most. “I believe that life is about balance between work and life…,” she said.
When asked about what makes the team culture here so unique she says, “…our commitment to being close-knit and personable, despite our department's size. We recognize and value that beyond our roles, we are all individuals with personal lives and shared humanity.”
When she is not working, you might find her watching the Korean drama, Crashing into You. She also enjoys Adele songs or a good ballad. Tracy also enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures, having been to many countries in Europe and Asia. She also likes to cook and try new cuisines from the places she’s been. “One thing on my bucket list is to travel Australia and have a road trip there. I’m passionate about exploring new places and seeing as much of the world as I can.”
With Australia on her bucket list, a place famous for its beaches (and wildlife), you might be surprised to find “…that even though I don’t know how to swim, I love snorkeling in the ocean.” When she does go, everyone at SPAC wishes her the best and asks possibly for some pictures of places like the Great Barrier Reef if she visits it.
