Liz Graham is the executive director of the Thurgood Marshall Law Library at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. She joined the library in 2019 as head of technical services and was named executive director in 2022. In this role, Graham oversees library services and day-to-day operations, working closely with faculty, students, and staff to ensure that library resources effectively support teaching, learning, and legal research across the Maryland Carey Law community.
Graham began her career in academic libraries as a student employee and brings more than 20 years of experience providing research and information services in academic settings. Before joining Maryland Carey Law, she held leadership roles at UCLA and Georgetown University, with professional experience in Washington, D.C., and Qatar. As an active member of the law librarianship community, Graham regularly speaks at regional and national conferences, sharing practical insights on library leadership, services, and operations. Her contributions to the profession were recognized with the American Association of Law Libraries Emerging Leader Award in 2021.
Graham recently completed her Juris Doctor degree at Maryland Carey Law through the school’s evening program, using the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s tuition remission benefit.
