Mary Jo Bondy has been a physician assistant for three decades, practicing clinically in multiple specialties and serving as an educator for 27 years. She serves as an associate dean of the University of Maryland School of Graduate Studies, the founding program director of the Doctor of Medical Science Program and an associate professor for the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB).
In 2018, she founded the PA Leadership and Learning Academy, and, in 2014 she established and led the Office of Academic Innovation and Distance Education. She has contributed to the development of multiple new degrees at UMB, including the Master of Health Science and the PhD for Health Professions Education.
