Celebrating the Class of 2025
Dear UMB Community,
It’s a joyous time as we celebrate the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s (UMB) Class of 2025! This week, more than 1,600 graduates from across our seven schools will mark this milestone with pride — reflecting on their journeys, honoring their achievements, and embracing the road ahead.
Do you remember that moment yourself? The mix of relief, excitement, and anticipation for what comes next? I know today’s graduates feel the same as they step into their futures — ready to do the work UMB has prepared them for: to improve the human condition and serve the public good.
I invite you to watch and share our special graduation video, Seven Students, One Conversation, featuring one student from each UMB school in conversation with Roger J. Ward, EdD, JD, MSL, MPA, our provost and executive vice president. Together, they explore the big questions that come with earning their postgraduate degree and starting the next chapter.
Dr. Ward shares meaningful reflections — and then turns the tables, asking each student a question of his own.
As families, friends, faculty, and staff come together to celebrate these meaningful endings and exciting new beginnings, I want to express my deep gratitude to everyone who supported our students along the way. I also hope you’ll join me in warmly welcoming the many visitors on campus this week as they honor their graduates.
The Class of 2025 now joins our extraordinary community of alumni. Please help us celebrate them on social media by using #2025UMB, and continue to show the strength and pride of the UMB network.
Congratulations, graduates! I join the entire UMB family in celebrating your accomplishments. We can’t wait to see where your talents and dedication take you next.
Warm regards,
Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS
President
