    Student Parking

    Purpose

    Request parking privileges for resident dorm students, resident dorm visitors, and commuter students at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB).

    Applicability

    Students residing in campus housing are eligible for dormitory resident parking and dormitory resident visitor parking, which can be requested through UMB Parking and Transportation Services.  Commuter students are provided parking on a daily basis.

    Resident students are not allowed to purchase daily (commuting student) parking permits. Daily permits do not allow overnight parking.

    Instructions

    Pascault Row Residents or Resident Students (Ending August 1, 2025)

    1. Students must be registered for campus housing to apply for resident parking.
    2. For additional information and a copy of the application visit the Resident Student Parking and Transportation Services Website.
    3. Submit completed resident parking application to the Cashier’s Office located at the SMC Campus Center, Lower Level, Room 002.
    4. Permits can be picked up at Cashier’s Office, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
      1. When you first arrive on campus, park at the Lexington Street Garage, located at the corner of Lexington and Pine streets.
      2. To obtain permit, bring University ID, vehicle information, and payment (cash or credit card). 
      3. UMB One Cards will need to be linked in order to gain access into the garage.

    500 W.

    1. 500 W. residents must contact the 500 W. directly at (410) 706-5523 for parking information.
    2. UMB One Cards will need to be linked in order to gain access into the garage.

    Visitor Parking

    1. Resident students may obtain visitor parking voucher for parking after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends at the garage where the student is assigned.
    2. The resident parkers must go to the Cashier’s Office located at the SMC Campus Center, Lower Level, Room 002 with One Card to request visitor voucher.

    Commuter Student Parking

    1. Purchase and or renew a parking permit online through Parking Account Website.
    2. Students must have a UMB One Card and the cost for the permit is $5.00 and is renewed annually.
    3. Once registered online, new students will need to pick up his or her permit at the Parking Cashiers Office, SMC Campus Center with their UMB One Card.
    4. Commuting student must park at the Lexington Street Garage located at 660 W. Lexington Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.
      1. Parking is available on a first come, first serve basis and Parking and Transportation Services does not guarantee parking spaces.
      2. Commuting student permits are for use while students are attending classes, not for overnight parking.
      3. UMB One Cards will need to be linked in order to gain access into the garage.
      4. Failure to follow the above procedures could result in a loss of parking privileges.
    5. Daily rates start at 2:55 a.m.
