November 2 - 6, 2026

Every member of the UMB Community contributes to an ethical, respectful, transparent, and accountable culture.
Our choices, decisions, and actions = UMB's impact.
Together, we make a difference.

Every day at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), faculty, staff, and students make choices that shape how we teach, conduct research, care for patients, and serve our community. From Nov. 2 to 6, UMB will celebrate those choices, and the people and offices that support them, during Compliance and Ethics Week. This year’s theme, United in Integrity: Accountable for Impact, reminds us that each of us plays a part in UMB’s ethical culture, and that together, our everyday choices shape the impact UMB makes.

The kick-off event will close with Our Voices, United. Contributing to a Speak-up Culture at UMB. It encourages every member of the UMB Community, faculty, staff, and students, to create an environment where questions and concerns are welcomed and heard.

  • Nominate a Compliance Champion

Across UMB, there are people who make a difference every day. Some ask the right questions, some help colleagues find the right answer, and some set an example others want to follow. Their choices strengthen our work and help UMB serve our students, patients, research participants, and community.
As part of Compliance and Ethics Week, we invite you to recognize these colleagues by nominating them as a Compliance Champion. Faculty, staff, and students are all eligible, and nominations can come from anyone in the UMB community.

Compliance and Ethics Week would not have been possible without the dedication of our planning committee. Representing schools and offices across UMB, these colleagues generously shared their time, ideas, and expertise. Together they shaped a week that reflects our whole community, from session topics and tabling events to communications and outreach.

Their collaboration is a true example of this year’s theme, United in Integrity: Accountable for Impact. Please join us in thanking:
