You may recognize Security Officer Nicole Fleming if you've ever hopped in the public safety van for a Safe Ride across campus or into the neighboring community. Fleming has been with the University of Maryland, Baltimore Police Department (UMBPD) for the past 4.5 years.

"Once I became a Safe Ride driver, I truly started to enjoy the day-to-day of driving employees and students around and getting to know them better than I expected," says Fleming.

Encountering so many different personalities each day can be fun, but it can also be a challenge. Fleming says she stays positive and keeps a smile on her face.

In the future, Fleming hopes to start a business of her own. She enjoys cooking, spending time with family, and making people laugh.
