Zambian Rotators Visit Maryland as Part of UMB-UTH Global Health Exchange

This spring, UMB hosted visitors from Zambia as part of a long-running partnership with the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka, Zambia, which supports an ongoing global health exchange between the two medical education institutions. Visitors to UMB rounded in the hospital and at the School of Pharmacy, participated in conferences and convenings on campus, shared their expertise, and discusses potential future collaborations.
The UMB Center for International Health Education and Biosecurity (Ciheb) has supported the HIV response in Zambia since 2004. As part of the ongoing global health exchange between the two institutions. UMB trainees in health sciences (including medical, pharmacy, and nursing students, residents, and fellows) travel to Zambia for a one-month clinical rotation. Zambian doctors, pharmacists, and junior faculty come to Baltimore for clinical experience and research training for four weeks.
