The Institute of International Education (IIE) annually convenes National Screening Committees to review Fulbright U.S. student applications and recommend candidates as semi-finalists to the award sponsors.

Qualifications for the Academic Study/Research Committee include:

• Full-time, tenured faculty
• Associate Professor or above
• World region/country expertise outside of the U.S., including living, working, or studying abroad
• All fields and disciplines
