Join a Discussion on Creating Equity and Accessibility in Rwanda through Prosthesis

September 7 at noon online

Join Fogarty International Center and NICHD's National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research for "Research, Opportunity, and Healing: Creating Equity and Accessibility Can Change Lives for People with Disabilities in Rwanda" Sept. 7 at noon.

Keynote speaker Claudine Humure designed a 3-D-printed, adjustable prosthetic socket for transfemoral amputees in developing countries. An amputee herself, Humure’s goal is to start a prosthetic clinic in her home country Rwanda that will supply amputees who are not able to afford the costly prostheses on the market today.

She will discuss her journey from amputee to advocate and prosthesis designer as well as the future of prosthetics globally with Fogarty International Center Director, Roger I. Glass and NICHD National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research Director, Theresa Cruz.
