Join the National Academy of Medicine for a scientific symposium Oct. 19 on "Confronting Urgent Threats to Human Health and Society: COVID-19 and Climate Change." The symposium will open with a keynote address by Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, that will reflect on COVID-19, climate change, and the imperative for global collaboration.

The symposium is part of the Academy's 50th annual meeting, which will be held Oct. 18 with Interest Group Meetings featuring panels to discuss current and global challenges affecting science, medicine, technology, and health.
