Panos Zanos, PhD, Discovered a New Way to Help People with Treatment-resistant Depression

Panos Zanos, PhD, has gone from being the 2017 winner of the Post-Doctoral Award to being recently promoted to Assistant Professor at UMB. In this video, Dr. Zanos says ketamine, a kind of anesthetic, is showing promise as a new way to help people with depression. Currently, Dr. Zanos' research focuses on the identification of the neurobiological mechanisms underlying the affective state during long-term abstinence from opioid use.
