UMB Faculty Senate President, Dr. Joshua Abzug, Co-leads Innovative Hand Surgery Training Site in Ghana

This article describes a collaborative effort of Ghanaian, Canadian, and American hand surgeons and therapists; Health Volunteers Overseas (HVO); the American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS); and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) to establish for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) to establish more affordable, safe, evidence-based hand surgery in Kumasi, Ghana.  The AAHS and UMSOM faculty, Josh Abzug MD, have worked with Oheneba Owusu Danso, Boutros Farhat, and Vincent Ativor of Kumasi to create a series of weekly webinars in hand surgery and therapy that have been running successfully for 4 years.  Read more in the journal article
