J. Daneé Sergeant’s experiences with grief, loss, and displacement, combined with professional training in social work, inspired a deep commitment to social justice and trauma-informed care. Influenced by a social worker who played a pivotal role in their life, Daneé developed a passion for helping others navigate complex systems and overcome personal challenges. Their professional background includes research, counseling, work with LGBTQ+ mental health programs, and contributions to supportive housing initiatives. At EMBRACE, Daneé serves as a Clinician and Social Worker at Restoration Gardens 1, providing social services to young adults in supportive housing. They focus on dismantling barriers to equitable care and fostering healing-centered, culturally responsive wellness, helping individuals access the resources and support they need to thrive.
