Deona Henson was drawn to EMBRACE after teaching parenting classes in jails and prisons, where she found her passion for supporting individuals affected by incarceration and helping them rebuild and strengthen their family connections. Deona is dedicated to building safe spaces where individuals can return to their communities with dignity, essential resources, and hope. At EMBRACE, she serves as a Senior Family Navigator, connecting families to essential resources such as housing, employment, and community services. In this role, she also provides mentorship and support to reduce household stress, strengthen family stability, and promote healing. Her work reflects her unwavering commitment to breaking cycles of incarceration and helping families thrive together.
