Sequoia Wright, MA

SEQUOIA WRIGHT largeSequoia Wright joined the UMB CURE Connections (C2) Scholars Program in 2018 and serves as the Program Manager.

Before joining the team, she spent five years as a teacher of science in both Baltimore City Public Schools as well as Maryland State Department’s Juvenile Services Education.

Prior to her career in education, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Spelman College and her master’s degree from Wesley Theological Seminary. During her time teaching in Baltimore City, she completed coursework in secondary education at Johns Hopkins University and she is currently completing a Master of Public Health at Morgan State University.

Her passions include biomedical research and public health. Being a native of Baltimore, and a product of Baltimore City Public Schools, she feels a unique passion for empowering children to use STEM as a means to overcome the obstacles that arise as a result of educational inequities.
