The millions of people in the U.S. who suffer from pain experience a broad range of significant discomfort, including low back pain, severe headaches or migraines, neck pain, facial and jaw pain, cancer-related pain, and localized or widespread bodily pain of unknown origin.

UMB has been an epicenter of robust chronic pain research for many years. In 2014, the University of Maryland Center to Advance Chronic Pain Research (CACPR) was established to build on the decades of multidisciplinary pain research and expand innovative collaborations across the University. Join us to learn more about CACPR's work in improving pain care, as well as the ground-breaking research that is leading to new treatments and improved hope for the future.
