1. Please introduce yourself and describe your role at UMB.
I have been with SOM for over 11 years and supervise Trauma's 24/7 clinical Research Team. I hold a RN and BSN, most recently I have received a Master's in Healthcare Administration Informatics.
2. Why are you interested in serving on the Staff Senate?
I am always looking for ways to support the success of my team and collogues. We have a diverse group of C1, C2, and Regular staff in our team, each deserving equitable opportunity to grow and advance. These priorities easily translate campus wide and to the community. Research is in grave danger; in these uncertain times I feel compelled to do anything I can to persevere with positive engagement on behalf of research and education.
3. What do you hope to accomplish during your term?
I hope to contribute to the development of supportive and diverse policies to assist in a positive work culture that provides an environment of respect and support campus wide. I want to strengthen research support and community education; I want to protect science and support those that carryout out our research initiatives.
4. Describe your hobbies and interests outside of work.
I enjoy Skiing and exercising, family travel adventures, and I am president of a non-profit Baltimore Rock and Ride Foundation Inc. It's mission is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of cancer patients in our community. By harnessing the power of fun and community spirit, we raise funds to directly benefit those battling cancer, easing the burden of cancer treatments by providing tangible assistance and a brighter outlook on their journey.
