Please introduce yourself and describe your role at UMB.

If you work in higher education, you know the challenges and importance of administrative staff. As the Assistant Director of Records & Registration at the Office of Student and Academic Services, I bring more than 15 years of dedicated experience to the UMSON community, though I joined just last year. My background has provided me with a deep understanding of the vital role staff play in institutional success and the specific challenges we face daily. My role offers a unique perspective on the complexities of student enrollment and the needs of frontline staff.

Why are you interested in serving on the Staff Senate?

I am running for Staff Senate because I believe staff are the backbone of this institution. I want to ensure that as the university evolves, our contributions are not just recognized but are used to shape policy. I am committed to being a strong advocate for all staff and making our voices count.

What do you hope to accomplish during your term?

I am committed to moving beyond routine operations to foster a workplace where every staff member feels empowered and appreciated. If elected, I will prioritize three essential pillars: * Holistic Employee Well-Being: I will champion sustainable self-care strategies that address the intense demands of our roles. Staff cannot support students effectively without strong institutional support themselves. * Pathways to Leadership: I propose launching structured mentoring programs for those aspiring to advance into leadership roles. I aim to close the gap for talented staff prepared for the next stage of their careers. * Purpose-Driven Development: I will advocate for a professional development series designed to help employees identify their passions. The aim is to ensure everyone understands how their unique role contributes significant value to their team and the broader university community. In my short
time here, I have been inspired by my colleagues' dedication. I promise to be a persistent advocate who listens first and acts with transparency. I am ready to use my 15 years of experience to champion a culture of growth and wellness for all UMB staff

Describe your hobbies and interests outside of work.

My interests include making candles, shower gels, and lotions; traveling; cooking; and spending quality time with my family and friends.
