Nicole Nash

Director of Development
School of Nursing
1. Please introduce yourself and describe your role at UMB.
Hi, I'm Nicole, and I serve as the Director of Development at the School of Nursing. I’ve been in this role for almost three years. Prior to that, I worked in Development and Alumni Relations at both the School of Dentistry and the School of Medicine on campus. In my current role, my primary goal is to strengthen connections between the School of Nursing and our alumni, donors, and friends. The best part of my job is sharing the incredible things happening at the School of Nursing and across UMB with our broader community.
2. Why are you interested in serving on the Staff Senate?
I’m interested in serving on the Staff Senate because I’m passionate about helping grow and strengthen the UMB community. I look forward to learning more about the university, connecting with colleagues I might not typically interact with, and contributing to efforts that make UMB an even better place to work and learn.
3. What do you hope to accomplish during your term?
During my term, I hope to collaborate with fellow Staff Senate members, university leadership, faculty, staff, students, and the broader UMB community to advance our shared mission of improving the human condition. I’m committed to working hard to enhance employee, student, and stakeholder satisfaction while also supporting and sustaining the progress UMB has worked to achieve.
4. Describe your hobbies and interests outside of work.
Outside of my time at UMB, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I’m actively involved in my children’s schools and volunteer with several local community organizations. I also love to read and spend time outdoors—especially at Patapsco State Park. Traveling is another passion of mine, and I try to explore new places whenever I can.
