School of Nursing
1. Please introduce yourself and describe your role at UMB.
I have been employed at UMB- School of Nursing for 2 1/2 years. Prior to my employment at UMB I worked at Johns Hopkins University for 17 years. I have over 19 years of experience in Administrative Research. In my current role at UMB, I am the Research Administrator for the Pain and Translational Science Department for the School of Nursing. In my role I am responsible for the pre and post award grant management for my department as well as other financial duties. I also monitor Tango and Cash disbursements to research participants.
2. Why are you interested in serving on the Staff Senate?
As a member of the Staff Senate, I would be the voice for my colleagues which would enable me to bring up ideas and or concerns to the leadership team as well as play an essential role in workplace policies and benefits. Also being a two year plus employee at UMB it would be a chance to meet other individuals as well as leadership throughout campus.
3. What do you hope to accomplish during your term?
I would like to strengthen the relationship between staff, faculty, and administration and assist with helping people feel more connected to the broader mission and community at UMB.
4. Describe your hobbies and interests outside of work.
I do not have any specific hobbies. My main interest outside of work is spending valuable time with my three lovely grandkids.
