1. Please introduce yourself and describe your role at UMB.
I work on behalf of the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation, Inc. (UMBF) and have worked at the University since 2018. In my role, I facilitate stewardship initiatives, including the annual dissemination of donor endowment financial reports. I create templates and help devise policies and processes pertaining to multi-year pledge reminders, charitable gift receipts, donor acknowledgments, and donor Memorandums of Understanding. I also oversee endeavors which facilitate routine dialogue among UMB’s Schools and those which creatively thank donors for their philanthropic support.
2. Why are you interested in serving on the Staff Senate?
My passion is the people of UMB. As a Staff Senator, I would find it deeply rewarding to represent the voices of our community, across all walks of campus, to advocate on their behalf for a workplace that is inclusive, empowering, and safe. Importantly, I believe strongly in being present to enhance staff awareness of, and engagement with, Staff Senate to foster a sense of community and continuity in dynamic times.
3. What do you hope to accomplish during your term?
Should I have the privilege of serving on the UMB Staff Senate, I would like to increase the number of ways in which faculty and staff can volunteer and assist our neighbors and friends throughout the community. I would also like to advocate on behalf of my colleagues so that we may address their needs and desires to continually improve our University culture.
4. Describe your hobbies and interests outside of work.
When I am not at work, I thoroughly enjoy spending time with friends and family, including my husband, Mike, and our beloved chocolate lab, Tito. I am an avid reader who intends to read at least 50 books in 2025. I also love working out and enjoy binging a good show on Netflix.
