1. Please introduce yourself and describe your role at UMB.
I am a Research Security Specialist in the Office of Research and Development, Sponsored Programs Administration. My role involves practices and procedures that help to keep UMB's researchers and their work protected.
2. Why are you interested in serving on the Staff Senate?
My passion is the people of UMB. As a Staff Senator, I find it deeply rewarding to represent the voices of our community, across all walks of campus, to advocate on their behalf for a workplace that is inclusive, empowering, and safe. Importantly, I believe strongly in being present in to enhance staff awareness of, and engagement with, Staff Senate to foster a sense of community and continuity in dynamic times.
3. What do you hope to accomplish during your term?
As a Staff Senator I look forward to continuing my service as an Enterprise Risk Management committee liaison, and hope to expand my engagement with Staff Senate to include my interests in shared governance, policy, and culture that shape the staff and community UMB experience.
4. Describe your hobbies and interests outside of work.
My hobbies and interests include gardening and volunteering for community governance, and I am currently saving my pennies to start beekeeping because bees are crucial for our food & botanical sustainability!
