Shernett Wynter
Shernett is a Financial Analyst for our Non-Fed Billing Team. She has been with SPAC for 18 years. “I am proud of how far I have come in my career with SPAC. Being around for so long, I have seen a lot of transformation and have been able to adapt and learn a lot in the process.”
While she does admit to liking the benefits the University offers, her favorite part of working here is how supportive the leaders are of everyone’s well-being and growth “...whether career-wise or personal.” It’s not just the leaders but also her coworkers.
It’s not just leadership though. Shernett says, “Team members are always willing to assist when needed.” With everyone she works with she thinks that “the diversity of the staff makes us unique. There are many different cultures represented here, and all are respected. We get along and work together well.”
A large part of the relationships with others here at UMB comes the need for Respect and Integrity, which are the University Core Values she resonates with the most. She says, “Everyone should be respected regardless of their status. I believe that respect is at the core of any relationship, it makes communication a lot easier. It also makes it easier to work together in achieving goals.”
One of Shernett’s goals is to travel Europe. We all hope she gets the opportunity to enjoy herself doing so. While she’s traveling, Shernett likes to listen to Gospel Music. She also enjoys cooking and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite show right now is On Patrol Live. For those who are not familiar it is a documentary series following police and sheriff deputies across the county in three-hour episodes.
Going along with that, when asked what superpower she wishes she could have, Shernett’s answer was Strength. She said, “This would enable me to perform the harder task that would require assistance. It would also enable me to serve others in the same way and operate like Superman.”
