Brandi Galloway, PhD, MDiv, MSN, WHNP
I am a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of clinical experience, primarily in public health. My work has focused on teen pregnancy prevention, HIV prevention, and addressing social determinants of health. For the past two years, I have practiced at Johns Hopkins Gynecology and Obstetrics. I earned my PhD in Social and Behavioral Health from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2020 and am a Certified Menopause Specialist. I enjoy working with adolescents and young adults and have taught in LPN, RN, and NP programs in both didactic and clinical settings.
I became a preceptor just six months after graduating as an NP, still developing my own practice while being expected to teach without clear structure or guidance. While classroom teaching is well-supported, clinical teaching is often undervalued, despite being where critical thinking and professional identity are formed. The PALLA Fellowship will help me become a more effective preceptor and mentor through intentional, theory-informed clinical teaching, allowing me to create more structured and meaningful learning experiences for future clinicians.
