Jeuelle Ottley Sam, MSPAS, PA-C
Jeuelle Ottley Sam has been a Physician Assistant since 2003, with a career spanning psychiatry, urgent and primary care, and infectious disease research at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Howard University in 2002, and later completed her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies at Touro College of Health Sciences in 2021.
For much of her career, Jeuelle has specialized in integrative psychiatric care, combining traditional psychiatric medicine with nutritional psychiatry and lifestyle interventions to treat pediatric and adult populations. She has practiced across private practice, telehealth, and community mental health settings, developing individualized treatment plans that address the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of mental health. Her approach draws on evidence-based conventional psychiatry alongside functional medicine principles and brain health optimization, reflecting her broader commitment to whole-person, root-cause care.
Why PALLA?
I am joining the PALLA fellowship at a pivotal moment as I begin a part-time faculty position at my alma mater while continuing to practice clinically. This fellowship offers me the opportunity to intentionally develop my academic skills and become a more effective, confident educator as I step into this new role. Beyond the classroom, I am deeply committed to contributing to the growth of our profession by mentoring the next generation of clinicians and helping shape well-rounded, resilient PAs. A particular focus of mine is clinician and student wellness. I want to explore ways to weave holistic education and burnout-prevention strategies into PA curricula, so that we are not only training highly skilled clinicians, but also healthy, sustainable ones who can thrive throughout their careers.
