    Tyler McCauley, MS, PA-C

    Tyler McCauley, MS, PA-C

Tyler McCauley has always had a passion for teaching, but his path first led him to healthcare. Becoming a physician assistant allowed him to combine those two passions in a way he never expected. While practicing family medicine, Tyler's favorite part of the job wasn't just diagnosing and treating patients—it was educating them. He loved helping patients understand their health, empowering them to make informed decisions, and watching their confidence grow through knowledge. During PA school at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, he realized that education is one of the most powerful ways to improve healthcare, and he knew wanted to help train the next generation of PAs.

After years in family medicine and now practicing in urgent care, Tyler has had the privilege of serving as one of the founding faculty members of the Physician Assistant Program at Notre Dame of Maryland University. Helping build a program from the ground up has strengthened his passion for curriculum development, mentorship, and student success. He's currently pursuing his Doctor of Medical Science degree at Rosalind Franklin University, where he continues to grow as an educator. His goal is to create engaging learning experiences that prepare future PAs to provide exceptional patient care.

    Why PALLA?

Throughout my career, I have discovered that my greatest professional fulfillment comes not only from caring for patients but also from preparing the next generation of physician assistants. Serving as one of the founding faculty members, and now Academic Director, at a developing PA program has given me opportunities to shape curriculum, mentor students, and lead educational initiatives. Those experiences have also shown me how much there is still to learn. I am excited to be a part of the PALLA Fellowship because I want to become a more effective educational leader and gain advanced expertise in curriculum design, instructional innovation, assessment, and faculty development. My goal is to use the knowledge and mentorship gained through PALLA to strengthen our curriculum, foster meaningful student learning, and ensure our graduates are exceptionally prepared for clinical practice. I believe the fellowship will equip me with the tools, network, and perspective needed to continue advancing PA education while making a lasting impact on not just the students but the profession.
