Kara Cossis, MPH, PA-C
Kara Cossis started her career in the field of Urology in inner city Baltimore in 2006 before joining a larger urology practice. Within the urological fields she has worked in many capacities including the Director of Advanced Practice Providers, Executive Physician Support and helped to establish the Advanced Practice Provider Led Advanced Prostate Cancer Clinics. During her career she has taken on additional roles in the Emergency Department, Psychiatry, and most recently in the Bone Metabolism Clinic. She has also severed in the role of Associate Professor for the Physician Assistant Program at Notre Dame University and continues there as a guest lecturer. Kara has also served on the Physician Assistant Advisory Committee from 2020-2026, chairing the last two year of her term.
Why PALLA?
The PALLA fellowship is an affirmation of my commitment to lifelong learning, leadership, and service to the physician assistant profession. I see it as an opportunity to expand my impact beyond the exam room through leadership, education, research, and mentorship.
PALLA stood out to me because of its commitment to developing physician assistants who will help shape the future of healthcare. Its emphasis on leadership, collaboration, advocacy, and academic excellence closely aligns with the kind of clinician and leader I strive to become. I believe our profession is uniquely positioned to improve patient outcomes, and I hope to contribute by advancing clinical practice, mentoring future PAs, and promoting evidence-based care.
