Persons must in the Kuali Research employee look-up (aka Person look-up) to have access to Kuali Research.
"Access" includes being added as a UMB Key Person on a proposal, certifying the proposal, and other roles such as creating or viewing data in Kuali Research.
"Employees" in Kuali Research include anyone on UMB payroll and others who have requested "app access," such as affiliates and students.
Does the person appear in the UMB campus directory?
NO: Check with your HR liaison to verify the person's current status. New faculty not yet at UMB, adjunct (unpaid) faculty, UMMS residents, and others may need to be added in the Community System with a request for "app access" for Kuali. Affiliates should also have a UMB email address so that they can certify in KR and take other actions allowed once they have KR roles and access.
A new affiliate (with request for Kuali access) will first appear in the campus directory, then in Kuali Research (usually the following day), and finally in Kuali Build look-ups.
YES: For persons already appearing in the Campus Directory, the individual (affiliate, student, or resident) may request access to Kuali Research via the App Request system.
If this action is taken before 3:00 pm on a business day, then the person should appear in the Kuali Research employee look-up the following day, and in Kuali Build look-ups the day after that.
