Intercultural Center

Abstract image with wording

Founded in June 2020, the Intercultural Center is diligently working toward the continuation of existing Student Affairs initiatives and the creation of new initiatives that address the following areas:

  • Supporting a sense of belonging and connection through services and programs
  • Identifying and connecting students to resources aimed at success for historically underrepresented students
  • Navigating the impact of racial/ethnic/cultural stress on students
  • Partnering across campus to provide resources for the creation of affirming educational experiences
  • Assessing the climate for diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Supporting social identity affinity organizations
  • Offering programs for nationally celebrated heritage months
  • Assisting the University in examining the impact of policies and practices that disproportionately impact historically underrepresented groups
  • Leading the University in diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-oppression training, seminars, workshops, and presentations
  • Launching a White-identifying anti-racist reading group aimed at developing knowledge related to race and racism
  • Creating caucus groups that provide spaces for people to work within their own racial/ethnic group to address complex issues around race and oppression
