SPA oversees proposal routing and submission, issues subawards, and approves certain post-award transactions, including changes to projects and budgets.

Center for Clinical Trials and Corporate Contracts (CCT)
A Department of ORD
CCT supports industry-sponsored research and clinical trials by negotiating contracts, reviewing clinical study budgets, and managing agreements with for-profit sponsors.

Office of Technology Transfer

Technology Transfer helps UMB researchers protect, manage, and commercialize intellectual property, including patents, copyrights, and licenses.

Sponsored Project Accounting and Compliance (SPAC)
A Department of OAC
SPAC supports sponsored research through financial systems oversight, sponsor payments, and audit management.
Regulatory Offices
Regulatory offices provide oversight and support to ensure research is conducted safely, ethically, and in compliance with applicable regulations.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)
A Division of Administration and Finance
EHS supports UMB’s research enterprise by protecting laboratory workers, the environment, and the community, while also protecting the integrity of experimental materials.

OAC provides research compliance oversight, education, and investigative services, including support for human and animal research protections, research integrity, and conflict of interest requirements.

COI manages financial conflicts of interest in research. Disclosure of certain financial interests is required before engaging in specific professional activities.

HRP provides protections for all human research participants.

OAWA provides regulatory oversight for the UMB Animal Care and Use Program and supports the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).
