Martina G. Efeyini was born and raised in Baltimore. She joined the UMB CURE Scholars Program as a volunteer in 2019.

She currently is the College and Career Readiness Coordinator for the UMB CURE Scholars new program, Career Navigators. This program aims to provide support for our 11^th and 12^th grade scholars as they prepare for college and career. 

Martina is a toxicologist, science communicator and STEM education advocate who is passionate about supporting the next generation of scientists. She earned her master’s degree in toxicology from St. John’s University and her bachelor’s degree in toxicology from The Pennsylvania State University. Her experiences working  with coordinating programs, mentoring, conducting research and communicating science has allowed her to provide support to CURE scholars as they transition to the next stage of their academic and professional careers.
