Project Underway to Enhance Student Experience Through Improved Records and Registration Business Processes
UMB, in partnership with the Office of the Provost and CITS, is engaged in an initiative aimed at improving business processes that shape the student experience. The first phase has focused on student records and registration, with goals to boost efficiency, strengthen collaboration, and enhance overall service to students. This work included a business process mapping exercise to review current operations and identify opportunities for improvement. Administrators and stakeholders from each school have been working closely with industry consultants to drive this effort forward. Depending on the outcomes of this phase, the initiative may expand to other areas of the student experience. A final report with findings and recommendations is expected in winter 2026.
Experience Dashboard Under Development for UMB Students
The project to implement Ellucian Experience is currently underway at UMB. This cloud-based information hub is designed for students, instructors, and advisors, providing a modern, personalized way to access key resources. The dashboard will feature curated collections of resources organized by campus office or category, alongside dynamic, role-based cards that surface relevant data such as class schedules, grades, and account information. These cards will pull real-time information from systems like Banner, Blackboard, Degree Works, TouchNet, and more. The initial go-live is anticipated in mid-2026, and even after launch, the platform will continue to evolve as new cards are developed and released to meet evolving needs.
