UMSOM Receives $1 Million in State Grant Funding to Build New Center for Combat Casualty Care
The University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) is receiving $1 million in grant funding through the Maryland Department of Commerce to establish a Center for Combat Casualty Care with the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. The center will include a 5,000-square-foot Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility for the research and development of new tools and treatments and the training of military clinicians.
State funding for the new center comes from the Maryland Department of Commerce’s Build Our Future Grant Program, which supports projects developing innovative infrastructure and technology in Maryland.
