UMB Launches Nation’s First Master’s Program in Trauma Sciences
The University of Maryland School of Graduate Studies, in partnership with the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center, has launched the nation’s first graduate program dedicated to the academic study of trauma systems.
The new MS in Trauma Sciences is a two-year, online program that reframes trauma as a preventable disease. Designed for professionals in health care, public health, social work, emergency response, and related fields, the program helps students understand their role in strengthening trauma systems — coordinated networks that connect prevention, response, treatment, and recovery.
